Precautions for Layout and Wiring of Components on PCB

The layout of components not only affects the aesthetics of PCB, but also affects the performance of circuit. The following points should be noted:

  1. Generally, key components (such as SCM, DSP, memory, etc.) are arranged first, and then other components are arranged according to the direction of address line and data line.

  1. The digital circuit module and analog circuit module shall be arranged separately and cannot be mixed together.

  1. The layout of components should be even, dense and orderly, and avoid being top heavy.

  1. 4. The components with strong current shall be far away from other components as far as possible, and shall be arranged in places that are not easy to touch during commissioning.

  1. 5. Potentiometers, variable capacitors and other components shall be arranged in places convenient for commissioning.

  1. 6. The lead wire from the high-frequency component pin shall be as short as possible to reduce the impact on other components and circuits.

  1. 7. For components with large weight, a bracket shall be installed on the PCB for fixation to prevent components from falling off.

  1. 8. For some components with severe heating, heat sink shall be installed.

  1. The parallel wiring between the input end conductor and the output end conductor shall be avoided as far as possible to avoid coupling.

  1. The data line and address line of the microprocessor chip shall be wired in parallel as far as possible.

  1. If the wiring is allowed, the width of the conductor shall be as large as possible, generally not less than 10mil.

  1. The spacing of wires is determined by the insulation resistance and breakdown voltage between wires. It should be as large as possible within the allowable wiring range, generally not less than 12 mils.

  1. Line width: ground wire>power wire>wire>signal wire.

  1. Try to avoid turning when wiring. If you need to turn, try to make the lines simple and clear.

  1. In high frequency circuit, right angle or acute angle shall not be taken when turning to prevent signal reflection of high frequency signal when the wire turns.
